Founder
The work started with a bullet — and a choice.
At fifteen, Hashim was shot at point-blank range and left paralyzed. Long before that night he was a pre-teen buried under bullying, domestic violence at home, and a boy's conditioning to swallow fear until it turned into gangs, drugs, and self-harm. He learned one truth that changed everything: it is not just what happens to us, but how we choose to respond.
He refused hatred, founded Wisdom and Understanding, LLC in 2001, and spent two decades in schools nationwide. Then he went back for his BSW at Rutgers and MSW at NYU Silver — because complex trauma deserves clinical training, not just inspiration. Innovate Consulting is that bridge: lived experience with clinical authority behind it.
